The Well-being Wheel
One way to think about our personal well-being is as a wheel. When the wheel is rolling true, things are good. If parts of the wheel are out of whack, though, we’re in for a rough ride. Steering will be difficult. We’ll be knocked around. And it’ll put us in jeopardy of not reaching our destination.
The Well-being Wheel is a tool you can use to take a visual inventory of how you are doing in a set of domains that have an important bearing on our well-being. Consider how satisfied you are in each of the seven dimensions outlined below. Once you’ve done so, give yourself a rating between 1 and 10 on the Well-being Wheel. For example, if you’re feeling great about your current relationships, you might fill in the “Social” section until rows 9 or 10.
